Leaving it to Brew

I am currently working on my third assignment which consists of two short (make that very short) essays and a deadline to submit at the end of next week. With two assignments under my belt I am trying an approach that makes sense but quite frankly scares me a bit. Part of the battle with these initial assignments is the small word counts and therefore what to leave out without leaving too much ...um out. My approach this time is to write the essay, leave it for a few days, make changes as usual and then leave it to brew for a few more days. The result so far has been a complete restructure of the essay - I am happier with it now but there is a little niggle in my head 'was it better before? I can't tell anymore I've read it so many times.' I am now working on the second essay which hopefully will give my brain a respite from the first and it will all become clear again on my final check before submission.

Goethe

Firstly lets sort out the pronunciation - think Chas & Dave song Gertcha and take out the 'ch' sound - there you have it!
Goethe was an 18th Century writer and artist who wrote a play about Faust. Two hundred years before this Christopher Marlowe wrote Doctor Faustus (also based on the Faust legend) and this play forms part of the study. Poetic licence allows me to use Goethe as it simply provides the alliteration and sounds better than Marlowe, Gravy and Guitars! Goethe posts relate to my studies.

Guitars

Where to begin! Guitars and associated paraphernalia (amps, speakers, black boxes with flashy lights etc) have been part of my life for 25 years. I fought them once, some years ago. Quite rightly I lost the battle. I grew up and learned to respect them and dare I say love them! My husband couldn't live without them and therefore they belong in this house. Before he claps his hands and logs on to ebay let's remind ourselves that these things are everywhere. If there is a space on the floor - it gets filled, a space on the table - it gets filled, a space on the sofa - yes, it gets filled. Guitar posts are my frequent forays into insanity.
